Austin, while your assertion of a “natural, inborn right to bear arms” is a bigger philosophical can of worms that extends well beyond the issue of guns, you have perfectly articulated a completely ahistorical and factually incorrect point of view (albeit a very common one among the America right wing). It is one that reflects complete ignorance of the origins of the Second Amendment, as well as the very words involved, to include “bear arms,” “well-regulated militia,” and “security of a free state.”
